Kamari Beach, Greece

The Black Sands of Kamari Beach

Wednesday, July 5

Santorini is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The blue waters of the Mediterranean surround this tiny picturesque island. Due to the geological makeup of the island there different types of beaches on the island depending on what side you are standing on. Kamari is the Black Sand Beach.

Kamari Beach is a black sand/ pebble beach on the south westerns side of Santorini. Because I went during the off-season the beach had not yet been pumped, meaning the pebbles where more prevalent than the sand. This terrain makes walking a bit difficult but is well worth the risk to watch the sun paint the clouds purple and orange in the mornings across the horizon.
